Exploring the Preschool Experience: A Look Into a Child's Daily Routine, Learning, Activities, and Developmental Growth

August is here which means school is right around the corner! What does preschool entail,

what’s the schedule going to look like, will they socialize, what crafts/activities will they be

doing, will they enjoy themselves? These are just a couple questions that may cross a parent’s

mind once their child is old enough for preschool. Fortunately for you, we can ease a lot of

those worries!

What is preschool and what does it entail?

Preschool is a safe place where your child(ren) will be instructed through countless activities

from writing their letters to making friends. Students will engage in a curriculum that will help

them flourish into little kindergartners! Preschool is a wonderful place where students will learn endless skills and build meaningful friendships. Above all, preschool is taught by eager teachers whose goal is to create a safe and fun environment for all to grow!

What is the schedule going to look like?

A routine and schedule will be created early on and followed throughout the year. Students will engage in activities such as circle time, craft time, and gross motor time. Our teachers create themed lesson plans weekly that have numerous activities, which will ensure a smooth day full of fun and learning!

What crafts and activities will they be doing?

Each week we have a different theme based on the time of year, holidays, seasons etc. Using

those themes, teachers will create a weekly lesson plan. Each day students will have a craft

time to create and express themselves through art. Based on that theme students will also have other activities that follow suit. The activities are done independently and in groups which are both key concepts to benefit them in the future.

How preschool helps socialization?

Our teachers strive to create an enjoyable classroom full of social engagement. Through our

activities such as centers and outside time students can make friends that have the same

interests as them! Students will engage with many friends daily, which will allow them to

continue developing their social and emotional skills. Students will be lead through social and

emotional activities/exercises and then encouraged to use those skills throughout the day.

Cognitive development

While in preschool, students will learn fundamental skills such as using scissors and writing their name. Other skills such as counting and spelling will also be introduced. Students will also learn life skills such as table manners, and problem solving. The goal of preschool is that kiddos are Kindergarten ready!

While its bittersweet that your little is old enough for preschool and that summer is coming to

an end, we are beyond excited to welcome new friends into our program! Interested, or have

more questions? Contact us today, we’d love to chat and make the transition as seamless as

possible!
